Alison spent over 20 years in a wide range of roles within the financial services industry. She now runs a small business helping organisations improve their customer service, profitability and efficiency. She also works as a paid lay representative for Health Education England and is one of Oxford AHSN’s partners. She works with doctors, dentists, GPs and pharmacists, visiting many hospitals and primary care outlets. She is a member of the Reading University Executive Stakeholder Group for the School of Pharmacy and sits on a number of other school boards.
Her main motivation is to ensure that the NHS appreciates the value of softer skills such as empathy, leadership and communication. She is constantly looking for ways to encourage others to value them as a vital component of medical student training and as a measurement of performance throughout the career of medical professionals.
