Training to safely stop inappropriate medicines

1200-1300

Online

Healthcare professionals involved in medication reviews are being offered a free hour-long training course to help address problematic polypharmacy and overprescribing.

Through case studies the online session focuses on safely stopping inappropriate medicines and aims to increase confidence in conducting structured medication reviews.

The interactive lunchtime training is being run on two alternate dates in January and March – see registration links below.

It has been developed by Health Innovation Oxford and Thames Valley in partnership with the three Integrated Care Boards which cover Frimley, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire West, Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes. It is open to healthcare professionals within the region covered by these ICBs.

The training will also help primary care network (PCN) clinicians deliver the medicines optimisation elements of the Directed Enhanced Services and meet recommendation 18 of the National Overprescribing Review report.
