Innovation support

Health Innovation Oxford and Thames Valley supports innovators to understand the NHS, to learn current national and local clinical priorities, and to discover where else they can get help to develop their innovation. We are commissioned by the Office for Life Sciences to help get innovations and innovators adoption-ready for the NHS and the UK. We do so by providing free guidance to innovators through a range of meetings, events and publications, as well as hands-on project management and mentoring.

Our four clinical priorities are:

  1. Mental health – particularly children and young people
  2. Cardiovascular disease including stroke
  3. Maternity and neonatal
  4. Respiratory

We have cross-cutting themes supporting diagnostics, artificial intelligence (AI) and elective recovery.

In addition to the initial innovator support, we offers a range of distinctive services for eligible organisations that meet our clinical and local priorities. These include:

  • Bid writing support
  • Evaluation delivery support
  • Early health economic evaluation
  • Lean Assessment Process methodology
